Why did I make a grit wash? Because my husband needed something stronger than regular hand soap to wash his greesy hands after working on greesy stuff! 'Your everyday grit wash' is just that- a grit wash that will clean the greese. Other instances we have seen it work is with chalk line construction workes use to make straight lines. that stuff stains! 'Your everyday grit wash' leaves your hands clean.
 
So, what's in it??
 
Distilled water to smooth out the consistency for easier use.
 
Mason's Sand is a clean, but gritty sand that will give your hands a nice scrub without hurting.
 
Tallow is to replace the moisture in your hands. 
 
Shea Butter contains several types of fatty acids including lineolic, oleic, palmitic and stearic acid. These improve the skin's natural barrier, that in turn protects the skin from damaging pollutants in the environment.
 
Castor oil also moisturizes your skin.
 
Sodium hydroxide or lye and water is used in the saponification process of turning oils and fats into soap!
 
Orange Peel Essential Oil is a cleansing oil that contains antibacterial properities.
 
Sodium Benzoate is a food grade preservative.
